Chicago Fire at Houston Dynamo

When: 7:30 p.m. at Robertson Stadium.

TV: DirectKick

Scouting the Fire: The second-place Fire (8-3-8, 32 points) will be shorthanded again. Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Mexico) and Gonzalo Segares (Costa Rica) are back with their national teams for Wednesday's World Cup qualifiers, and Wilman Conde (hamstring strain), Tim Ward (leg) and John Thorrington (groin strain) could miss the game with minor injuries.

Scouting the Houston Dynamo: Unlike the Fire, the Western Conference leader (10-6-5, 35 points) will have its national-team players for this game. Brian Ching, Stuart Holden and Ricardo Clark won't join the U.S. camp until Monday. The Dynamo is 6-1-3 at home this season, so this will be another test for the Fire, the team with the league's best road record (5-1-4).

Next: Fire at Kansas City, Aug. 16
