Marmion students collecting school supplies

Students from Marmion Academy and Rosary High School will be collecting donations of school supplies from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the weekends of Aug. 8-9 and 15-16 at local Jewel-Osco stores for the annual Crayons for Kids School Supplies Drive.

The items collected, new in package, including pencils, crayons, pens, markers, glue, glue sticks, erasers, supply boxes/pouches, scissors, rulers, colored pencils, loose-leaf paper and folders will be delivered to dozens of schools throughout the Fox Valley.

They also will accept monetary donations that will be used to purchase gift cards and clothes for the families of students in need.

Collections will be held at these Jewel-Osco locations: Aug. 8 and 9: Elburn, 800 N. Main St.; Elgin, 1660 Larkin Ave.; South Elgin, 375 Randall Road; and St. Charles, 652 Kirk Road; and Aug. 15 and 16: Aurora, 1157 N. Eola Road; Aurora, 1952 W. Galena Blvd.; Batavia, 119 S.
