Golfing for charity gold at annual Holes for Hope
Golfers from all over the Fox River Valley area will meet on the links this summer for the 21st annual "Holes for Hope" golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, at the Aurora County Club, 1548 W. Prairie, Aurora. This charity event is co-sponsored by Rich Harvest Farms, home of the 2009 Solheim Cup and Brennan Enterprises.
Last year, the event raised nearly $30,000 in support of local programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Three Rivers Council-Boys Scouts, Sci-Tech Hands on Museum, Leukemia and Lymphoma Research, Carpenters Place, Hesed House, CASA Kane County, CASA Kendall County, Breaking Free, Carenet Pregnancy Center and many more.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with lunch at 11:30 a.m. This year's tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The tournament will include awards for Closest to the Pin (men's and women's) and Longest Drive (men's and women's). There will also be a post-tournament banquet for players and a raffle for prizes featuring items donated by local merchants.
The cost of the event is $300 per player or $1,200 per foursome. Sponsorships are available and are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. Interested players and foursomes of men, women and coed teams are invited to join their family, friends and playing partners for a day of fun, festivities and fundraising for a good cause.
