We've already seen the birth certificate
I am all for Free Speech, but I don't know why the Daily Herald would waste time, ink, and paper to print letters like the one from Robert A. Schott (July 25) regarding Barack Obama's birth certificate.
It would be one thing if Mr. Schott (and others like him) were offering up opinion... that is Free Speech.
What these so-called "birthers" are espousing are innuendos and rumors... and that is a waste of time.
The fact of the matter is that the State of Hawaii has presented a copy President Obama's legal birth certificate, illustrating that he was born on Hawaiian soil, which unquestionably makes him a U.S. citizen - regardless of the origin or ethnicity of either of his parents.
If you disagree with President Obama's politics or policies, fine, let's talk about and debate that. But let's not waste any more time with innuendos and unsubstantiated rumors that take away focus and attention from the real issues facing our country.
