Applicants, volunteers needed for paint-a-thon
The Carpentersville Improvement Committee is planning a Paint-A-Thon activity for Saturday, Sept 12.
Similar to what had been done in past years by other organizations or groups, the Carpentersville Improvement Committee is planning to paint the exteriors of two homes and up to three garages in need of painting.
Applicants must be a resident of Carpentersville; own and reside at the property (no rental properties); be at least 65 years old or disabled; meet household income criteria; and submit the completed application no later than Monday, Aug. 10.
The committee is also looking for volunteers for the paint-a-thon.
Volunteers can be as young as 14 years of age with parent consent or at least 18 years of age.
Home Depot and Menard's have partnered with the CIC and have donated the paint, but the committee asks volunteer painters (individuals or groups) to provide their own paint supplies.
CIC is also working with local food establishments to provide the volunteers nourishment in the morning and during lunch, as well as water and soft drinks during the event.
