Great Lakes Dredge & Dock revenue up

OAK BROOK - Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp., a large provider of dredging and demolition services, reported a 40 percent increase in revenue from dredging operations, which drove the 65 percent improvement in overall gross profit for the company.

Having the benefit of stimulus funds, the Army Corps of Engineers actively bid projects, which resulted in the domestic bid market's second quarter activity for 2009 almost doubling from the first quarter.
