Give us safe place to shoot Airsoft guns
Dear Arlington Heights Youth Commission,
A few weeks ago my mother pointed out an article in Daily Herald (June 20, Local Focus) that she thought was of interest to me. It was about a boy (Andy Walker) who would like a place for people to have "pellet gun wars."
I am a 12-year-old student at Thomas Middle School. I know many people that love Airsoft as much as I do.
Even before this article was in the paper my friends and I wanted to have a place where we could have a war but there was no place near.
One necessity that I feel is important is to have an area just for gun safety, so kids could learn how to use the Airsoft gun properly. Another could be a supervised instructional firing range. Kids could shoot at targets and learn how the gun is to be used. Another possibility is to have an area where you could rent gear, like guns and masks.
When I read this article, I envisioned a war arena, like wars that are 20 minutes long. I personally think that this would be great because you could do it all year long.
