Aurora police seek hit-and-run driver

Aurora police are seeking information on a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a 52-year-old Aurora man Sunday night.

Police said they received a 911 call from residents who found the man along the side of the road about 10:50 p.m. on the 800 block of Ridgeway Avenue just west of Woodlawn Avenue.

Police said the victim was on a bicycle and suffered serious injuries to his legs and head consistent with being hit by a car. The man told police he didn't remember what happened.

The man was transported to a hospital.

Aurora traffic investigators recovered some evidence but are hoping someone witnessed the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 801-6610, or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to any arrests.
