More oversight of insurance companies
There is a serious need to control and oversee health insurance and drug companies.
Our country is wasting lots of money subsidizing these companies. Health insurance and drug companies make huge profits, executives get gigantic salaries and benefits while refusing benefits to individuals.
Companies spend large amounts on lobbying and political contributions. (Why are we allowing this to go on?)
Medicare Advantage and drug company plans get subsidies from our government.(Why are we paying third parties - why not pay through regular Medicare?)
Health insurance and drug companies should be required to provide in simple understandable language information about the plans and services they provide - as in Medicare supplement plans in Illinois. (How about a one-page chart?)
Our country needs a government option and serious oversight and control of private insurance and drug companies.
