Elk Grove woman hurt in crash
An Elk Grove Village woman received severe leg injuries Saturday afternoon during a two-vehicle collision on the Eisenhower Expressway near Itasca.
Sarah Behar, 70, was traveling eastbound on I-290 when her car collided with a truck. The collision trapped Behar inside her car. Members of the responding Itasca Fire Department extricated her from the wreckage.
Behar was airlifted by helicopter to nearby Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
District 2 Illinois State Police are investigating the accident, which tied up traffic on the Eisenhower both ways for an extended period of time. No citations had been issued in the accident as of late Saturday.
