Prepare for ramp closures heading in and out of Chicago
Drivers who head into downtown Chicago starting this weekend will face some challenges getting on and off the Kennedy Expressway.
Starting Saturday, westbound Jackson Boulevard, westbound Madison Street and eastbound Randolph Street entrance ramps will be closed.
Eastbound exit ramps at Adams Street, Monroe Street and Jackson will remain closed.
Lane closures are also planned in each direction on the Kennedy between Jackson and Lake Street.
The construction is part of a $9.3 million Illinois Department of Transportation rebuilding of Kennedy Expressway exits and entrances between the I-290 exchange and Hubbard's Cave.
Other options are Ohio Street for eastbound traffic and Roosevelt Road for westbound vehicles.
The construction will be completed in the fall.
