Huntley man charged with downloading child porn

Acting on a tip from the High Tech Crimes Bureau of the Illinois attorney general's office, Huntley police on Wednesday arrested a man suspected of downloading child pornography.

After discovering several images and videos on the suspect's computer depicting children in sexual situations, police arrested Jimmy J. Dill, 37, of the 10000 block of Cape Cod Lane, according to Huntley police.

Dill is charged with nine counts of child pornography, a felony, and one count of misdemeanor possession of ammunition without a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card, authorities said.

Dill's FOID card was revoked after police arrested him in June for allegedly giving 45 pills of Ritalin to an 18-year-old Huntley woman. Dill was charged with unlawful possession and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He was out on bond when he was arrested this week.

Dill was released Thursday after posting $4,000.

His attorney, Henry Sugden, declined to comment, saying he has not yet spoken to Dill or seen the formal charges.

Huntley police said Dill's arrest marks the fourth time in the past 18 months that the department's cooperation with the High Tech Crimes Bureau has led to a child pornography arrest.

Huntley Police Chief John Perkins said his department will soon sign a formal agreement with the bureau that allowing officers to receive training in fighting child pornography.
