Companies awarded for brailler

LAKE ZURICH - Product Development Technologies, Inc., Perkins Products and the American Printing House for the Blind have been honored in the 2009 International Design Excellence Awards sponsored by BusinessWeek for the Next Generation Perkins/APH Brailler.

The brailler received a silver award. Out of 1,631 entries, only 47 received this honor.

The BusinessWeek IDEA report appeared on newsstands Wednesday. The product was redesigning to make the communication tool for the blind easier to carry and allows more Braille users easier to use.

Lake Zurich-based PDT is a global, full-service product development firm with over 100 employees in eight offices worldwide.
