Carol Stream woman held on $200,000 bond after stabbing
A Carol Stream woman faces several charges of battery after being arrested for stabbing a man in the stomach Sunday on the 100 block of Amber Court.
Raven Smith, 29, is charged with aggravated domestic battery and two counts of aggravated battery for the stabbing.
Her bond was set at $200,000 and she remained in DuPage County jail Monday, authorities said.
Police responded about 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a woman who had stabbed a man in the hallway, authorities said.
Officers located the wounded man in the hall. A security guard for a nearby apartment complex found Smith.
Carol Stream Fire Protection District paramedics transported the man to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was later transported by helicopter to Loyola University Health System in Maywood, police said. Hospital officials decribed him in good condition on Monday afternoon.
During the alleged incident, Smith's children were left home alone, leading to two additional charges for endangering the life of a child.
Police said they immediately made arrangements for the children's care and they continue to investigate the case.
