Clean out your closets to help Rover Rescue efforts

Rover Rescue is looking for donations for its annual garage sale benefiting homeless dogs. The funds raised through the sale will provide medical aid and care for dogs and puppies rescued from high-kill shelters. The garage sale is set from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1, at 326 Sharon Lane, North Aurora. Items needed for the garage sale include household goods, tools, sports equipment, kitchen utensils, glassware, toys, baby furniture, baskets, holiday decorations, small appliances and paperbacks.

Clothing and other donations are also welcome. Due to storage limitations, however, the group cannot accept upholstered furniture or large appliances.

When you go through your closets or straighten the garage, remember the homeless dogs that could be helped by donating your unwanted items to the Rover Rescue Garage Sale.
