Scouting: Fire @ Seattle Sounders FC

When: 2 p.m. Saturday at Quest Field

TV: ESPN

Scouting the Fire: It's Cuauhtemoc Blanco's team now, at least for the next three months. With Brian McBride out following shoulder surgery, there's no question who the Fire (7-3-7, 28 points) looks to for scoring punch. Blanco delivered off the bench last week, but he'll probably start this week. The question is, where does he play and who lines up beside him? Logan Pause remains away for the Gold Cup, but Gonzalo Segares could be back.

Scouting Seattle Sounders FC: Fredy Montero is second in MLS with 9 goals and also has 6 assists, but part-owner Drew Carey's expansion club has plenty more talent. Kasey Keller is the all-star goalkeeper, former Fire forward Nate Jaqua adds 6 goals and 6 assists, and midfielder Freddie Ljungberg is the Sounders' designated player. Seattle (7-3-7, 28 points) also leads the league in attendance, averaging around 30,000 fans a game.

Next game: All-Star Game, Salt Lake City, Wednesday.
