Abbott warned over AIDS drug DVD featuring Magic Johnson

An Abbott Laboratories' HIV drug promotional DVD with Earvin "Magic" Johnson is misleading to consumers, U.S. regulators said.

The consumer-directed, patient testimonial DVD "minimizes the serious risks" of the medicine Kaletra and "overstates the efficacy" of the product, according to a warning letter posted today on the Food and Drug Administration's Web site.
