PADS of Elgin celebrates Hoeft center with bike ride

On Sunday, July 26, PADS of Elgin will celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Douglas L. Hoeft Resource Center with "The Ride for PADS."

The festivities will include a picnic, live music from Universal Slim and the Blues Kangaroos and a voluntary motorcycle run for those wishing to participate.

There will also be drawings for door prizes, including motorcycle rental packages provided by Woodstock Harley-Davidson, Chicago Cubs and White Sox tickets and other prizes donated by Bunge's Tire and Auto, Randall Pancake House, XSport Fitness and Target.

Attendees may choose to participate in the picnic and concert only for $10, or participate in the ride and drawings for $25.

The event will take place from 2-5 p.m. at the Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail, near Randall Road and Highland Avenue in Elgin. Participants may visit www.padsofelgin.org/news_events to download a registration form or register in person the day of the event.

PADS of Elgin Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides emergency overnight shelter to homeless men, women and children within the Elgin, Dundee and Hanover townships.
