Blagojevich status hearing coming up Wednesday
Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's attorneys are due in court Wednesday for a status hearing before U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel, but the ousted governor doesn't plan to be on hand.
Blagojevich's attorneys are still searching for someone to supervise five so-called contract lawyers who are working their way through 3.5 million pages of evidence and hours of FBI wiretap tapes.
The attorney who has been doing that job, Giel Stein, has asked the court to let him withdraw from the case and he may get that permission at the hearing.
Stein has declined to say why he wants off.
