Sox call up Quentin, send Anderson to Charlotte
With Carlos Quentin rejoining the White Sox for tonight's game, Brian Anderson has been sent down to Triple A Charlotte with the club choosing to keep Dewayne Wise on the roster.
Quentin was activated before tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Sox outfielder was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list after his rehabilitation assignment at Charlotte.
The 26-year-old Quentin was hitting .229 (30-131) with 8 home runs and 20 RBI in 38 games with the White Sox went he went on the disabled list on May 29 (retroactive to May 26) for plantar fasciitis in his left foot. While with Charlotte and Class A Kannapolis, Quentin went 15-40 (. 375) with 4 doubles, 1 home run, 10 RBI, 7 walks and 10 runs scored in 14 games.
Anderson, 27, has appeared in 65 games with the White Sox this season, batting .238 (44-185) with 2 home runs and 13 RBI.
Wise has appeared in 43 games, batting .196.
