Tractors on display at Naper Settlement

The Naper Settlement played host to a parade of tractors Sunday during its weekend Settlement Sundays.

Members of The Good Old Toys tractor club spent the morning near the Riverwalk with nearly a dozen tractors along Eagle Street for spectators to see and touch.

Three-year-old Scott Kegg of Naperville lit up when his family walked near the line of firetruck-red tractors. Scott and his 11-year-old sister, Courtney, posed in front of a John Deere as their parents snapped photos.

"This definitely made his day," mother Laura Kegg said of her son.

By Sunday afternoon, the club had regrouped within the Naper Settlement.

Tom Kuhn, founder of the tractor club, said members of the group meet several times a year to commiserate over their farming heritage.

"Lots of these guys' family members were working these fields for generations," said Kuhn, whose own family had farmed in the Western suburbs for six generations. "We're basically a glorified supper club with an attitude."
