Cubs recall Hart for start, send Fuld to Iowa
WASHINGTON -- Right-handed pitcher Kevin Hart has been recalled from Single-A Peoria to start for the Chicago Cubs against the Washington Nationals.
Hart is 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA in five games with the Cubs. He had been sent to the minors July 9 so that he could keep pitching during the All-Star break.
Chicago optioned outfielder Sam Fuld to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday to make room for Hart. Fuld was batting .368 in 12 games with the Cubs.
