We can force term limits on incumbents

Last week I was discussing with a friend that sad state of affairs concerning our state's fiscal problems, the rampant corruption and the general loss of focus our politicians display for doing the work of the people they represent in all layers of government.

We fell back on the old premise that politics, when constitutions were originated and the systems of government were inaugurated, was never meant to be a full-time occupation. People representing their communities would do so for a brief period and return to their community, family and full-time employment. Somewhere along the way this refreshing approach to representation in government has been lost and eroded.

We commented that term limits are the answer to this dilemma but realized no full-time politician is going to support that agenda. And then it dawned on me that by going to the polls and voting against every incumbent running for office again, we have that power in our own hands. Please consider this option when you vote in future elections.
