Thanks to library foundation head
On behalf of the residents of Glen Ellyn and the members of the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation, I would like to recognize and thank Ray Cliff for serving as foundation president for the past four years. The purpose of the foundation is to enrich the role of the library in the community through support received from private donations.
The time and service Ray volunteered to the nonprofit foundation led to important enhancements at the library, enriching the role of the library in the community by making it more convenient for users and day-to-day operations more efficient. Specifically, through his efforts in working with residents of Glen Ellyn who graciously donated funds to the Foundation, a self-service checkout station for library materials was funded, thereby reducing the amount of time staff and users spend in checking out materials.
Additionally, funds donated to the foundation were used to remodel a second-floor space at the library is dedicated to high school-age students looking for a quiet place to study, work on projects and or just browse the young adult book collection.
Through Ray's efforts, the Glen Ellyn Library has been enriched and the community is better served.
