Taxpayers burdened further by energy bill
Mark Kirk, shame on you for voting for H.R. 2454. This is a bill introduced to do nothing but bring further financial burdens on Americans.
I would like to know how many of your constituents urged you to vote for H.R. 2454. I know I sent an e-mail and made a phone call urging you to vote against this blatant tax increase. I can't believe a majority of your constituents wanted this bill to pass Congress. You are supposed to represent us, not your own interests.
Unemployment in Illinois is already one of the highest in the country. The tax burden on the taxpayers of Illinois is one of the highest as well. Americans will be paying for the bank bailout for generations. To further burden the taxpayers of Illinois with higher energy costs for no other gain than revenue for the government is unconscionable. I will remember your vote for H.R. 2454 (as well as your vote for the TARP bill last fall) when you decide whatever office - whether Senate, governor or Congress - you are going to run for in November 2010. My vote will be no for Kirk.
