Hospital exec honored as Blago case whistleblower
Hospital executive Pamela Davis has received an award from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners for her work as a whistleblower who told the FBI about corruption in former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration.
Davis, CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville, wore a hidden recording device to gather evidence that an administration official, an investment banker and a construction man were pressuring her as part of a kickback scheme.
It was one of the first steps in the investigation that eventually led to a related case in which Blagojevich is charged with racketeering and fraud.
The FBI has already honored Davis for her work.
