Chicago accepting grant requests from arts groups

Chicago's CityArts Program is accepting grant applications from nonprofit arts organizations, cultural groups and social service agencies with established arts programs.

Grant requests range from $3,000 to $10,000. Groups awarded grants in 2010 are eligible to receive funding for two more consecutive years.

The program encourages applicants to attend one of several workshops being held through early August to find out more about the program and how to request grants.

The deadline for this year's application is 5 p.m. on Aug. 17.
