Disappointed that property was stolen
In the wee hours of the morning on July 5 someone stole my wishing well.
It was a small, 2-foot yard ornament in the flower bed in front of my home. On top of the wooden well is the plastic engraved sign "WELLSPRING" and it was lighted with solar lights and tiny LED light bulbs so it would be visible at night.
I work at home and this serves as a marker for patients coming to see me.
What upsets me is that they would steal from me, and the wooden well meant a lot to me. My husband had anchored it with rebar so the snow plows would not knock it over. The side support pieces were old and broken, so he replaced them better than new, then added the solar LED lights for more visibility. Maybe that was our fault. We had no idea that anyone would deface our home.
I will not press charges if the pranksters will simply return the wooden well. They can do so anonymously by bringing it to the police station. We had to call the police the next day after the parade so a report has been filed.
Please, if anyone sees a 2-foot tall wishing well, perhaps the WELLSPRING sign has been removed, but the LED lights cannot without damage to them, please let me know.
