Bartlett firefighters celebrate Barn at 50

The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department Inc. wishes to thank the Bartlett Lions Club for selecting our organization as this year's 4th of July parade Grand Marshal in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Bartlett Fire Barn.

Opened in 1959, the Fire Barn was "Bartlett's Original Community Building" and continues today to serve the needs of local civic organizations in their support of community service.

Each year, with the BVFD support, there are many fundraising events held at the Fire Barn to assist many charitable causes. It is very gratifying that the Bartlett Lions Club recognized these 50 years of community service and giving us the honor to lead your parade. Thank you.

We also appreciate the overwhelming support of Bartlett area residents for your rental of the Fire Barn for your individual events and your continued support of our fundraising events.

We are grateful for the kind words many of you expressed to our members during the parade. It is your support that allows the BVFD to continue the legacy of service to the community for over 110 years.

Hope to see you at our Street Dance on Sept. 5.

Bob Bucaro, secretary, and the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department Inc.
