Alcatel-Lucent unions want meeting with French president Sarkozy
PARIS -- Alcatel-Lucent SA's labor unions requested a meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss planned job cuts and the company's future.
"The President must also listen to the employees," the CFDT labor union said in an e-mailed statement today. Sarkozy will meet with Alcatel-Lucent Chief Executive Officer Ben Verwaayen on July 15, according to the statement.
Alcatel-Lucent has operations in Naperville.
