Visitors to get inside look at Buckingham Fountain
Visitors can get an inside look at one of Chicago's most iconic monuments this summer.
Tours of Chicago's Buckingham Fountain are happening Fridays through Sept. 4. Visitors will get the chance to see the fountains underground pumps.
The lakefront fountain is one of Chicago's most recognizable images with its towering stream of water and evening light shows.
A close-up look at the recently renovated fountain costs $50. The 30-minute tours are hosted by Chicago Park District historian Julia Bachrach.
Proceeds from the tours help to benefit the fountain restoration.
To find out more, visitors should contact the Parkways Foundation.
Tours run at noon and again at 12:30 p.m.
