U of I admissions may lead to later troubles
I have meticulously followed the Daily Herald's coverage of lesser-qualified students being admitted to the University of Illinois simply from political pressure, not academic ability.
Suppose some of these less-qualified youngsters manage to be pushed through, based on politics, and receive a degree from the School of Business or the Law School. Messing up someone's income tax return or offering bogus legal guidance is serious enough. Being admitted to the School of Medicine or the School of Nursing due to political pressure or affirmative action, which is solely based on fostering diversity not necessarily academic ability, is a whole 'nother ballgame.
Some may label my statement as conjecture. Hopefully Abner Mikva and his exploratory committee will bare the truth.
