Potluck picnic welcomes Sun City neighbors
Neighborhood 11: Join your Neighborhood 11 neighbors and friends for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, good food, games and prizes at the annual picnic, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Sun City Pavilion. They are having a potluck picnic again this year; bring your favorite dish or dessert to share along with a serving utensil. Bring a nonalcoholic beverage of your choice and a tablecloth (optional) for your table.
Chicken will be provided and eating will begin at 1 p.m. The pavilion seats 65 people, so additional chairs and tables may be needed depending on attendance.

Neighborhood 33 Women's Group: On Tuesday, July 14, the Women's Group in N33 will lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Checkers Restaurant in Union and then will visit the McHenry County Historical Society at 1:15 p.m. They will take a visual and interactive trip back in time to the 1890s and meet the Patrick family and their servants, view their lifestyles, look at life in Marengo a century ago, and take a trip to the World's Columbian Exposition. It will be separate checks at the restaurant and $3 per person at the museum. RSVP to either Maridene at (847) 659-9492 or Ronda at (224) 654-2070 by Friday, July 10.
Scandinavian American Club: The club will host a Pie Fest from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 17 at Meadow View Lodge. Sun City resident Gunnar Hanson will entertain on the Hawaiian guitar.
Pie and beverage will be provided free to members. Cost to nonmembers is $3. Call Adele Wogstad at (847) 515-1627 by July 14 for reservations.
Cribbage: On July 1, Ed Dunn took first place with a perfect score of 484 points. Second place was won by Paul Brow with a score of 482 points. High individual hands were posted by Dunn, Bill Macomber, 24, Jim Jemilo 21,20. There were five skunks.
Euchre: On July 2, the results were: Pearl Flick, 76; Bill Wiederkchr, 67; Ed Langen, 66; and Mary Kretz, 65.
