2-year-old run over by car in Round Lake Heights

An emergency helicopter flew a two-year-old boy to the hospital Tuesday after he was run over by a vehicle in Round Lake Heights, fire officials said.

Greater Round Lake Fire Department officials responded to a 911 call at 813 Tomahawk Trail around 5:32 p.m. Tuesday, and determined the boy's injuries warranted being flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, officials said. Fire officials said the boy had moderate injuries, but could not say for sure if the boy's life was in danger.

Round Lake police officials were not available for comment late Tuesday.
