Boy crushed in rollover accident on Elgin-O'Hare
A 13-year-old Chicago boy was killed Saturday evening after being ejected from a minivan that rolled over and on top of him on the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway.
The driver and three other adult passengers of the minivan were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, Illinois State Police said.
The minivan was traveling west on the Elgin-O'Hare about 6 p.m. Saturday when it lost control and left the roadway for unknown reasons before rolling over just east of Lake Street in Hanover Park, police said.
The boy was ejected through a window of the vehicle before it landed on top of him.
Police did not identify the boy or any of the other occupants of the minivan. At least three of the adult survivors are also from Chicago, while the residency of the fourth was still being checked Saturday night.
