Look to diet for hair loss solution

Dr. Gott's advice regarding hair loss made me run hands through my hair. He acknowledged the problem is difficult to solve, but recommended two drugs for the writer's problem.

As a nutritionist I noted that there was no mention made of a dietary solution. Since the writer stated that she is a vegetarian who drinks primarily water I question whether or not drugs should be the first/only course of action.

A blood test might reveal the need for high quality protein in her diet, usually provided from meat (which she does not eat) or milk (which she does not drink). If her diet is lacking, an appointment with a nutritionist might be more beneficial than an appointment with her druggist.

A vegetarian diet can be very good, but it should not be undertaken without adequate knowledge.

Food for thought.
