Hoffman Estates range to host long-drive contest

Boulder Golf Driving Range in Hoffman Estates will host a qualifying event for the 2009 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, the premier event in power golf, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11.

Area golfers are invited to see how they stack up as power hitters.

Long drive competition takes place in three adult divisions: Open, Senior (45 and older), Super Senior (53 and older). Qualifying lasts from 9 a.m. to noown, and then again from 12:45-3 p.m.

Entry fees are $40 per session. Golfers may enter multiple times and, if age eligible, multiple divisions.

Top finishers at Boulder Golf Driving Range, 2900 Beverly Road, Hoffman Estates will advance to the regional finals of the 2009 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship. The RE/MAX world finals will take place Oct. 25-30 in Mesquite, Nev.
