Mundelein unveils its royal court

Isabelle Jurasz, Kaitlyn Millner and Jasmine Ader have something in common - they're all royalty in Mundelein this week.

Jurasz, 8, was crowned Little Miss Mundelein on Wednesday night at Mundelein High School. She topped a field of five contestants between the ages of 6 and 8 to be named Little Miss Mundelein. Jurasz is a third-grader at Diamond Lake Elementary School.

Millner, 18, was named Miss Mundelein on Monday. She defeated eight other young women between the ages of 16 and 21 for the title. Millner is a junior at Taylor University in Indiana.

Jasmine Ader, 13, was named Junior Miss Mundelein on Tuesday. Thirteen contestants between the ages of 11 and 13 had sought the prize. Jasmine is an eighth-grader at Sandburg Middle School.

The competitions marked the start of the annual Mundelein Days festival, which runs through Sunday, July 5. A carnival, a parade, fireworks and a variety of games and other activities are on the bill.
