Lauding those who hire the disabled
It's hard for everyone to find a job these days, and it can be worse for those with disabilities.
The Arlington Heights Commission for Citizens with Disabilities would like to honor an employer who proactively works on this issue. If you know an Arlington Heights employer who should be recognized for hiring disabilities people, nomination forms are available at vah.com or by calling (847) 368-5793 or (847) 368-5794 TTY. The deadline is Aug. 31.
The commission is also sponsoring Citizens with Disabilities Day today as part of Frontier Days. Register at 9:30 a.m. at Frontier Store at Recreation Park, 500 E. Miner St. Carnival rides are available to people with disability from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Entertainment starts at 11 at Frontier Stage. Lunch is at 11:30 at the stage.
