Hanover Park manager hospitalized with chest pains
Hanover Park Acting Village Manager Ron Moser was admitted to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield on Wednesday for chest pains.
He remained overnight for observation, according to Hanover Park Mayor Rod Craig. He planned to sit out Thursday night's village board meeting and will take a short break before returning to work on Monday, Craig said.
"He had a little scare but doctors didn't find anything," Craig said. "There don't seem to be any problems with his heart."
Moser, named police chief in 1998, took over for ousted Village Manager Marc Hummel. The village board confirmed the appointment on June 4. Craig said he based his decision to tap Moser partly in response to the recent spike in violent crime.
"Ron is such an important cog in Hanover Park," Craig said Thursday. "He'll help see the village through this tough time."
