One man's solution to better society

In presenting this lifestyle I, R.W. Yohn, the writer, as a responsible citizen concerned for the continued well-being of his fellow citizens, have given much time and thought over the last 40 years to the study of what I call "social causation."

Social causation studies seek and identify the causes, undermining forces and interaction of social and economic conditions. This offers some helpful idea as to what causes what and undermines which, providing a big picture to qualify one to form valuable opinions regarding public policies.

In college I took courses in the various social and natural sciences, logic and rational debate, learning the process for making intelligent judgments that were later used to advantage in social causation studies.

In my observation of society, I have noticed a general deterioration in the social health of American society which now has gained such momentum that the entire future of American culture, government, and economy are seriously threatened.

For Americans who care about their future and that of the American people in general, as a social causationist, I would like to offer as a prescription to attack the seeds of national decline - an 8-point list of ways which can last and help our country to endure with a lifestyle for sustainable living. It's the triple rule of good citizenship: obey the law; promote the general welfare and follow the Golden Rule; register one's choices for legislation and candidates; follow public priorities, avoiding fallacies of noninvolvement and misplacement of priorities; rational informed judgment; to be sound and fair; nonuse of intoxicants, alcohol or drugs, for an unimpaired mind; no gambling, to conserve needed income; no more than two children per mother, for savings needed by families and their church; and no births out of wedlock, starting each child in its both-parent home.
