How deep will you sleep tonight? How about a body pillow?

If you're fickle in bed - one night wanting a fluffy pillow under your neck, the next desiring a full-length body pillow to spoon - well then have we got the match for you.

United Feather & Down, which conveniently has an outlet store at 414 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines, offers the Voyager Bed and Body pillow.

A zipper allows the pillow to transform from a standardized size to a full-length body pillow.

It has 300-thread-count organic cotton sateen on the outside and poly fiber fill made from recycled beverage bottles on the inside. So you can sleep easy knowing it's green. Retails for $50.

Perfect line for plus-sized people

Plus-sized people may find life difficult, what with tiny airline seats, glares from El train seatmates and snickers from folks in the stores, but at least one manufacturer is trying to make their life a bit easier.

Oh, they think there's money to be made, for sure. But still, it's nice to know they're thinking of the little, I mean, big guys.

BrylaneHome recently launched a new product line - Plus Size Living - which includes everything from outdoor products, like step stools and King Kong chairs (the folding ones you see at ballgames and such), to lifestyle items like exercise products, sleep aids and seat belt extenders.

Wood counters offer beauty, cleaning ease

Wood countertops are marketed for the high-end kitchen, and no wonder. They exude warmth and elegance.

But a few other qualities are worth noting as well, among them the antibacterial qualities.

Yes, you read that right. Properly treated, solid wood surfaces naturally resist bacterial buildup and are waterproof, heat- and stain-resistant and food-safe.

A line of wood countertops recently earned approval by the Artisan Group, a collection of surface fabricators dedicated to the highest standards in the industry. The line, marketed nationally as Heritage Wood, is sold in the Chicago area under its original name, Craft-Art, through Sprovieri's Custom Counters in Addison.

They do require maintenance - the wood needs to be oiled roughly once a year, particularly near the sink - and the color may change slightly over time. But it is easy to clean, won't dull knife blades and marks and scratches can be removed by sanding and re-oiling.

The countertops - created from domestic, exotic and reclaimed wood - come in a variety of colors, grains and finishes and can be ordered through your remodeling contractor.
