Same old politics plague Illinois
All financial solutions are phrased as the ever popular and politically correct, "cuts need to be made!" (Cuts, in whose district? Every citizen would approve any cut that is in some other citizens' back yard... only.)
Education and health care are the two most costly programs in any state. Most candidates for election champion these two projects as No. 1 - until action is required. Elected officials fill a job. Jobs have a description. Supervisors examine performance and evaluate. Employees make adjustments, leave the job or are replaced with more effective employees.
Illinois elected employees have only one goal: re-election. The citizens of Illinois are their last interest. Decisions can be difficult and unpopular. An example: A 14-year-old child wants to watch television rather than complete homework. A good parent makes the unpopular, but good decision to do what is needed and will benefit the child. Illinois elected employees refuse to make any difficult decision. wake up!
Not making a decision is still making a decision.
Not responding to a child who is not doing their homework is a decision.
A bad decision that will negatively affect the child for the foreseeable future.
The Illinois budget requires decisions. We may not like them and everyone may not get re-elected. Do the right thing. Decide on need not votes. Not making a decision should guarantee that no one gets re-elected.
