Four Naperville teens charged in thefts

Naperville police arrested four teens Wednesday in connection with vehicle break-ins on the city's northeast side.

Naperville's Kyle L. Davis, 17, of 870 Benedetti Drive; John A. Flood, 18, of 1056 N. Mill St.; Jacob D. Munson, 19, of 916 N. Eagle St. and Elena V. Lund, 17, of 420 E. Hillside Road, all have been charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and theft, police said. Both are Class A misdemeanors.

Police said they responded to the 1300 block of Brookline Court just before 1 a.m. Wednesday after a witness saw four people attempting to enter a vehicle. Police said they found six unlocked vehicles had been entered on Brookline Court and Springhill Circle and both cash and other items had been stolen.

The four teens were arrested and booked at the Naperville Police Department. They were released Wednesday after posting 10 percent of their $1,000 bond and are scheduled to appear July 21 in DuPage County Court.

Cmdr. Mike Anders encouraged residents to remove valuables from their cars and lock the doors.

"We've just had a rash of unlocked vehicles (with) items taken out of (them) and that's caused some serious losses for a lot of people based on the items kids are going after - GPS units, iPods, computers, things like that," he said.
