Apple Inc.'s new iPhone 3G S has a total cost for parts and manufacturing of $178.96, according to research firm iSuppli. The phone has parts costing an estimated $172.46, iSuppli said Wednesday. It costs about $6.50 to manufacture, the researcher said. Consumers pay $199 to $299 for an iPhone 3G S, depending on the amount of memory.
