State launches more mortgage relief help
CHICAGO -- Homeowners have another place to look for mortgage relief.
Officials of the Illinois Housing Development Authority say people can get new information on federal resources and financial counseling as part of a Mortgage Relief Project.
Outreach events will be held later this summer in Peoria and the East St. Louis area.
Homeowners who come to workshops can learn about how to refinance their mortgages and prevent foreclosure.
Struggling owners have other places to turn for help, including services offered by the Illinois attorney general's office.
