Nealon bringing 'Funniest Commercials' to Chicago

Kevin Nealon brings his TBS "World's Funniest Commercials" franchise to Chicago -- where so many TV ads were made -- at 8 p.m. Friday June 26, in a production taped earlier this month during the Very Funny Festival. The ads are from the world over, but the Chicago locations include Zanies, the Vic Theater and the LaSalle Street bridge.

Calling all 'Losers'

"The Biggest Loser," NBC's weight-loss reality competition, comes to town looking for contestants for its next go-round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at NBC Tower, 454 N. Columbus Drive, Chicago. They're looking for family teams of two, although individuals can audition on their own. All should bring a nonreturnable photo, however.

Woebegone 'Master'

PBS' "American Masters" examines a year in the life of "Prairie Home Companion" host Garrison Keillor in the documentary profile "The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes," debuting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, on WTTW Channel 11.

'Psycho' babble

Sure, Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" is a horror classic, but I still maintain that the ending is a lampoon of pat '50s psychological explanations. Up to then, though, it's pretty great, and it's part of a daylong Turner Classic Movies Hitchcock marathon when it runs at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Just set the dial for TCM and enjoy.

Janet Leigh goes down the drain in "Psycho."
