Frontier Days Stampede 5K and 10K races are back
When: Sunday, July 5.
Where: 5K, 10K and 5K walk start at Miner School, 1101 E. Miner St. Kids race starts and ends at Recreation Park.
Race registration: 6:15-7:15 a.m.
5K and 10K runs
• Races start: 7:30 a.m. Races end: Recreation Park, 500 E. Miner St.
• The 5K and 10K routes are the same as last year; flat and fast through residential areas and USATF certified. No strollers or baby joggers. Aid stations with Gatorade and water provided. Digital time clocks posted at each mile marker. Einstein Bros. bagels, Bear Naked Granola, fresh fruit, Matt's Chocolate Chip Cookies, Gatorade, water served at the finish line.
• $25 fee until June 28; $30 after. Participants receive a Technical T-shirt (Sytrel Moisture Management Fabric).
• Pick up race packets July 2-3 at Runner's High 'N Tri, 121 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights, or at 6:15 a.m. on Race Day at Miner School.
• Top overall male and female runners will get awards and $50 gift certificates to Runner's High 'N Tri. Top three male and female in each standard age group will get a race theme drinking glass. Race results posted ASAP after race near the finish line; also available at www.frontierdays.org.
5K Fitness Walk
Walk starts: 7:35 a.m. No fee. Strollers, baby joggers permitted.
Kids quarter-mile dash
• Start time: 9 a.m. (estimated). Entrants get 100% cotton T-shirts.
• All kids receive "Finisher Ribbons" for participating.
• $10 by June 28; $15 after.
