Time to book school physicals is now

Health officials in Lake County are encouraging parents to schedule school physicals, immunizations and dental checkups now.

Waiting until the end of summer can make it harder to book appointments students need to start school and participate in sports.

The Lake County Health Department offers low-cost immunizations at several locations.

Families without a health-care provider can make appointments for physical and dental exams at one of five community health centers.

The centers are located in Waukegan, Round Lake Beach, North Chicago, Highland Park and Zion.
