Should have let vets see the display

I attended the D-Day ceremony at the Cantigny Museum on June 6. It was great to see the approximate 500 World War II veterans in attendance. We owe those vets a lot. I stumbled onto a WWII encampment put up by a re-enactor group that was outstanding. They had WWII tents set up and had an extensive display of WWII gear. They were even playing music from the WWII era on period radios. The problem was that this display was set up just inside the main gate, which is about a half mile away from where all the veterans were.

I know that a lot of these vets would have liked to see this display and even to listen to the music, but it was too far away for them to walk and hardly anyone even knew of the display due to the distance that it was away. This is a real shame. What on earth did the museum have in mind by practically hiding this display and putting it so far away?
